Learning Intentions:
Mae’r stori ‘Cawr Mwya Crand yn y Dre’ gan Julia Donaldson yn adrodd neges bwysig iawn i blant. Mae’n ffocysu ar helpu eraill sydd eu hangen mwyaf, hyd yn oed os mae hynny’n meddwl rhoi o beth sydd gennym ni ein hunain. Mae’n amlwg mae’r cawr wedi gweithio’n galed er mwyn prynu ei ddillad newydd, ac mae’n garedig iawn i roi’r eitemau newydd yma i’r rai mae’n ei feddwl sydd eisiau eu hangen fwyaf. Yn ystod y gweithgaredd yma, hoffwn i chi ystyried eich cymuned leol gan ganolbwyntio ar y bobol o fewn y gymuned sydd â’r angen mwyaf. Beth allwch chi wneud/roi i’w helpu? I’r banc bwyd neu ddillad tybed?
The story of ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’ by Julia Donaldson carries a very important message. It focuses on helping others who are in need, even if it means compromising on we have for ourselves. It is clear the giant had worked hard for his new clothes, however he was kind enough to give what he could of his own to others who needed it more. During this activity, I would like you to think of your local community, focusing on what those in need, need most. Could you help to provide anything? To your local food or clothes bank perhaps?
Step 1: Introduction for parents and carers
Gwyliwch y fideo cyntaf o’r stori a’r ail fideo isod ac ysgrifennwch restr neu tynnwch luniau o bethau allwch chi wneud i helpu ac i fod yn garedig i eraill.Meddyliwch am beth allwch wneud i bobl sy’n agos i chi, fel eich ffrindiau a’ch teulu, a hefyd y bobl o’ch cwmpas megis y gymuned. Pa syniadau allwch chi feddwl am? Sut allwch chi fynd ati i wneud y pethau yma?
Watch both the story video at the top of this page along with the video below and write a list or draw pictures of things you can do to help and be kind to others.
Consider what things you can do to help those closest to you, such as your family, as well as those around you, such as the community. What ideas can you come up with? How can you put those ideas into action
Step 2: Now watch this video
Gwyliwch y fideo yma a thrafodwch y pwyntiau isod:
Watch this video and discuss the following points:
Beth mae Kerry wedi gwneud i Barry? Sut mae Barry yn ymateb?
A oedd hwn yn garedig? Pam ddim?
Beth allai Barry wneud yn lle hynny?
Mae’r ail ran o’r fideo yn dangos y brodyr. Beth maen nhw’n gwneud i fod yn garedig i’w gilydd?
Sut mae hyn yn gwneud iddyn nhw deimlo?
Oes unrhyw un yn eich teulu sy’n garedig i chi? Beth maen nhw’n gwneud sy’n garedig?
What Kerry has done for Barry? How did Barry react?
Was this kind of him? Why not?
What could he have done instead?
The following clips show two brothers. How are they kind to one another?
How does this make them feel?
Is there anyone in your family that is kind to you? What do they do that is kind?

Step 3: Follow up activity for you to do with your child!
- Ystyriwch eich cymuned leol, gan ganolbwyntio ar y bobol o fewn y gymuned sydd â’r angen mwyaf. Allwch chi wneud/rhoi unrhyw beth i helpu? I’r banc bwyd neu ddillad efallai? Think of your local community, focusing on what those in need, need most. Could you help to provide anything? To your local food or clothes bank perhaps?
- Meddyliwch am weithred cyfeillgarwch dyddiol ar gyfer eich teulu. Allwch chi ei gadw’n gyfrinachol wrth bawb tybed? Think of daily acts of kindness you could do in your family. Can you do these undercover to keep them top secret?
- Nid gweithred yw cyfeillgarwch bob tro, ond geiriau hefyd. Pa fath o bethau caredig allwch chi ddweud wrth eich teulu/ffrindiau agos? Kindness isn’t just doing something, it’s what you say too. What kind things could you tell your close friends/family?
- Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or upload it to any of the available places below.
