Learning Intentions:

Step 1: Activity overview for parent, carers and pupils

This activity includes a video story song (approximately two minutes) and online instructions on how to make a pyjama paper chain.The main activity can be completed offline and will require the following resources and adult support.

  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Colouring and/or painting tools

Step 2: Introduction to the activity and additional information

Let’s start by watching a story song called ‘Pajama Time’ by Sandra Boynton. Join in if you can. Look out for any patterns you can see on the pyjamas and their colours.

Discuss with your child:

  • What patterns did you see?
  • What pyjamas were their favourite?
  • What colours were the pyjamas?
  • What shapes did you see on the pyjamas?

Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity

Activity 1 – Adult support required

Make a patterned pyjama paper chain.

  • Click on the link below for instruction on how to make your pyjama paper chain.
  • Help your child to draw and cut out their paper chain.
  • Your child can now colour the paper chain pyjamas with different patterns and colours.

Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 5.
