Learning Intentions:
- I know how to be kind and caring.
Step 1: Activity overview for parent, carers and pupils
This activity is part of the religious education curriculum and links to being kind and caring. There is a short three-minute online story. The main activity can be completed offline.
Step 2: Introduction to the activity and additional information
Watch the video below to find out how Jesus helped others.
- What kind of person was Jesus?
- Can you use words to describe him?
- Was he selfish? Kind? Caring? Mean?
- Why do you think this?
Remember that this Bible story is just one example of how Jesus helped others. Can you think of any other Bible stories that show Jesus healing others?
Jesus had caring hands. He used his hands to heal others and to care for them. Today we are going to think about our own hands and how they care for others.
Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity
Activity 1
- Firstly, get an adult to draw around your hands.
- Use coloured pencils, felt tip pens or crayons to draw patterns and decorate.
- You may want to add some glitter or sequins once you have finished decorating.
- Write key words around your hands to show how you care for each other.
Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 6.
Step 4: Look over the success criteria for this activity:
Success criteria #1: I know what it means to be kind and caring.
