Learning Intentions:
- To listen and respond to a poem
Step 1: Activity overview for parent, carers and pupils
For this activity there is a one poem to read.
The main activity can be completed offline
Step 2: Introduction to the activity and additional information
Read through the poem with your child, getting them to guess what each verse is describing:
Read through the poem again and see how many toys your child can remember.
Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity
Activity 1
Draw and write the name of at least one toy that you can remember.
Get your child to write at least the initial letter of the toy that they have drawn.
Activity 2
Talk to your child about their favourite toy and get them to describe it.
Ask your child to draw their favourite toy and try to write words to describe it using initial letter sounds.
Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 5.

Success criteria #1: I can listen to a poem.
Success criteria #2: I can describe a toy.
