Lesson by Lucy Schmidt

Learning Intentions:

To use a simple sentences in Welsh to describe how you are feeling.

Step 1: Activity overview for parent, carers and pupils

Shwmae. In this activity we will be practising the question ‘Sut wyt ti?’ that you’ve been using in school. We will be introducing different ways that you can answer the question. Your challenge will be to use these in a role play activity.

Step 2: Introduction to the activity and additional information

Our first task is to practise the language you’ll need to complete your challenge. The video will introduce the question and answer patterns. Pause the video when asked to practise the phrases. Pob lwc! Good luck!

How many of the Welsh feelings can you remember?

Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity

  1. Use the Challenge Card (Link Below) to practice the Welsh patterns.
  2. Choose two of your favourite toys. Help them ask each other in Welsh how they are feeling. You can practise different answers with different characters.
  3. When you have practised your conversations, record a short video. Upload your video to HWB for your teacher.

Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 5.

Step 4: Look over the success criteria for this activity:

Success criteria #1:  I can express my feelings in Welsh.

Success criteria #2:  I can ask and answer the question ‘Sut wyt ti?’

Success criteria #3:  I can take part in a short role play activity.

Look at the learning intentions ‘how well do you think you have done?’
