Nursery > English > Language_Literacy_Communication > Welsh > Play a game: “Beth sy’ gyda ti?” (What do you have?)

Lesson by Martina Kopecka

Learning Intentions:

To ask and answer simple questions about possession in Welsh.

Step 1: Activity overview for parent, carers and pupils

Shwmae. In this activity we will be practising asking and answering two questions: ‘Beth sy’ gyda ti?’ (What do you have?)  and ‘Oes ….. gyda ti? (Do you have a ___?) The questions and different ways to answer are introduced in a video. Your challenge will be to use these in a short game.

Step 2: Introduction to the activity and additional information

Our first task is to practise the language you’ll need to complete your challenge. The video will introduce the question and answer patterns. Pause the video when asked to practise the phrases. Pob lwc! Good luck!

Practice the two questions on the Challenge card with Seren and Sbarc.

Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity

Practise the language further by playing the game using colours, numbers, shapes etc. – instructions below.

Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 5.

Step 4: Look over the success criteria for this activity:

Success criteria #1:  I can ask and answer simple questions about posession in Welsh.

Success criteria #2:  I can use colour, number and shape vocabulary in Welsh.
