- To recognise and use the rectangle shape.
- To write numbers 1-5.

The activity can be completed offline.
Step 2: Introduction to the activity and additional information
Start by watching the video ‘Terrific Trains’ by Tony Mitton and Ant Parker on the link below:
Talk about trains
- What noises do trains make?
- Can you name any parts of a train?
- Have you been on a train? If yes, where?
Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity
Activity 1: Using rectangles
- Draw six rectangles across the paper.
- Make the first rectangle the train engine and number the other rectangles 1-5.
- Colour your train and write the word train.
Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 5.
Step 4: Look over the success criteria for this activity:
Success criteria #1: I can talk about trains.
Success criteria #2: I know the rectangle shape.
Success criteria #3: I can write numbers 1-5.
