Gather together all the equipment and ingredients that you will need.

Large mixing bowl

Kitchen scales

Fork

Teaspoon

Spatula or wooden spoon

Loaf tin

Baking parchment

Butter

Caster sugar

Self-raising flour

Bananas

Chocolate chips

Milk

  • First, and most importantly, wash your hands.
  • Help your child to weigh out all the ingredients.
  • Follow the recipe to make the cake.
  • Allow your child to mix the ingredients together, put the mixture into the tins, etc.
  • WARNING – The adult must put the cake into the oven and take it out when it is cooked.
  • Take care because the cake will be hot when it first comes out of the oven. An adult should also turn the cake out onto the cooling rack as it will be hot.
  • Don’t forget to get your child to help clear and wash up.

Enjoy a slice of cake with a glass of milk and share your cake with your family.

Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 5.
