Learning Intentions:

  • To be able to name each part of a flower.
  • To be able to talk about the job of each part of a flower.
  • To be able to create a parts of a flower poster.

Step 1: Activity overview for parent, carers and pupils

In this activity there is a video song, approximately three minutes to support the learning.

The main activity can be completed offline.

Can you remember the different parts of the flower and what jobs they do?

Look at the poster below and discuss the different parts:

Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity

Activity 1

Draw a picture of a flower and see if you can label the different parts.

  • Stem
  • Roots
  • Leaf
  • Flower

Use your knowledge of initial sounds to help you write each word.

Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 6.

Step 4: Look over the success criteria for this activity: Success criteria #1:  I can name each part of a flower.

Success criteria #2:  I can talk about the job of each part of a flower.

Success criteria #3:  I can create a parts of a flower poster.
