- To recognise features within the different seasons.
Step 1: Activity overview for parent, carers and pupils
In this activity there is a short video (approximately two minutes).
The activities can be completed offline.
Your child will need the following resources: crayons, coloured pencils, felt tip pens, glitter, small pieces of paper (if they chose to so some collage), glue and one large sheet of paper (A4 or A3) divided into four equal parts.
Step 2: Introduction to the activity and additional information
This activity is about the seasons in a year. Watch the video below and listen to what happens in the different seasons.
Can you answer the following questions:
- How many seasons are there?
- How many seasons start with S?
- What is the weather like in the different seasons?
- Name something that happens in each season that does not happen in the other seasons.
Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity
Activity 1
- Create your own season poster
- Collect all the resources needed such as paper, crayons, coloured pencils, felt tip pens, glitter, small pieces of paper, glue and one large sheet of paper divided into four equal parts.
- Label each part of your divided paper with the names of the seasons.
- Discuss what pictures can be drawn to highlight what happens in each season.
Activity 2
Choose one season to describe
- Write a few sentences about the season you have chosen.
- Read to a family member to see if they can guess what season you have written about.
Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 5.
Step 4: Look over the success criteria for this activity
