Step 1: Activity overview for parent, carers and pupils
In this activity there is a video, approximately five minutes to support the learning.
Resources: toy vehicles/pictures and paper, pencils and crayon
The main activities can be completed offline and on different days.
Step 2: Introduction to the activity and additional information
This activity provides the opportunity to discuss vehicles and their uses.
Start by watching and joining in the story/song ‘We All Go Traveling By’ written by Sheena Roberts on the link below:
- How many different vehicles from the story?
- What colour was the bus/train/truck etc?
- How many people were on the bus, in the truck etc?
- How many vehicles were there?
- Can you remember where the story started, where did it end?
Listen to the story again to check.
Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity
Activity 1
- Make a list of or draw the vehicles in the story.
Activity 2 – Optional
- If you have a selection of toy vehicles or pictures can you sort them into land/sea/air vehicles?
- Can you think of other ways you could sort your vehicles? E.g. colour, size etc. ?
Activity 3
- Can you remember your journey to school or the route you took on a daily walk?
- Draw a map of your route to school or daily walk.
- Remember to draw and label some of the thing you see on your journey to school or walk.
Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 5.
