Learning Intentions:
- To sing a Welsh song.
Step 1: Activity overview for parent, carers and pupils
The lesson will begin by watching Seimon Morris perform ‘Aderyn Melyn’ on YouTube. The lyrics are available in the task section.
Step 2: Introduction to the activity and additional information
Gwrandewch ar y gân.
Listen to the song below. It’s called ‘Aderyn Melyn’. You may have already been singing it at school. In the song, we talk about birds in trees that match their colour, for example the yellow bird is in the banana tree and the orange bird is in the Fanta tree! How many colours can you recognise in the song? Can you make a list?
Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity
- Can you remember in which tree each bird is hiding?
Ble mae’r aderyn melyn? (Where is the yellow bird?) “Yn y goeden banana!”
Ble mae’r aderyn gwyrdd? (Where is the green bird?)
Ble mae’r aderyn coch? (Where is the red bird?)
Ble mae’r aderyn brown? (Where is the brown bird?)
Ble mae’r aderyn oren? (Where is the orange bird?)
- Look at the words to the song below.
- Practise singing the song with Seimon and record yourself when you’re ready. You could even make up some actions too!
- Upload your work for your teacher.
Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 5.
