Learning Intentions:

  • To develop imaginative skills.
  • To write some simple sentences.

Step 1: Activity overview for parent, carers and pupils

In this activity, there is a short two-minute story about going to the beach, to the support learning.

All other activities can be completed offline.

Step 2: Introduction to the activity and additional information

Do you like going to the seaside? While you are listening to the story, think about what you might take if you were going to the beach and what you might do while there.Start by watch the story ‘Beach House’ by Deanna Caswell on the link below:

Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity 

Activity 1

  • Draw a picture of you and your family at the beach.
  • Write a few sentences about your picture.
  • You might want to include sentence about the sea, sand, having an ice cream, shells, rock pools etc.

 Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 6.

 

Step 4: Look over the success criteria for this activity:

Success criteria #1:  I can use my imagination.

Success criteria #2:  I can write a few sentences.

Look at the learning intentions ‘how well do you think you have done?’

Step 5: Extension and follow on activities/challenges (optional)

Activity 2

Maybe you could set up a beach day in your garden? Or in your living room?

You might like to have a picnic in your beach area.
