  • To research a habitat of my choice.
  • To write a report on a habitat.

Step 1: Activity overview for parent, carers and pupils

In this activity you will need to choose one clip to research a habitat. Each clip is approximately four minutes long.

The main activity can be completed offline.

Step 2: Introduction to the activity and additional information

Choose one of the following habitats to research:

  • Arctic
  • Coral reef
  • Sea
  • Mountains
  • Jungle
  • Rainforest
  • Rock pools

Using the video link below click on the habitat that you have chosen and make notes as you watch.

  • What animals live there?
  • How have they adapted to live there?
  • What is the climate /conditions like in the habitat?

Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity

Activity 1

Write about the habitat you have chosen.

  • What habitat did you choose?
  • Which animals live in the habitat?
  • Write a description about what it is like to live there.
  • What are the conditions like in the habitat?

Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 5.

 

Step 4: Look over the success criteria for this activity:

Success criteria #1:  I can understand what a habitat is.

Success criteria #2:  I can choose one habitat and research it.

Success criteria #3:  I can write about my chosen habitat.
