In today’s activity we’re going to recap on basic shapes in Welsh and create an unplugged coding activity using some prepositions and phrases.

Step 2: Introduction to the activity and additional information
In today’s activity, we’re going to use a tangram to play an unplugged coding game. Take a look below to see a tangram. As you can see, a tangram is made up of 7 different shapes.
Coding is the method of giving instructions to a computer to perform a specific task. These instructions need to be very clear. Today, we’ll see how clearly you can give instructions in Welsh. Let’s begin by practising the language patterns and vocabulary that you’ll need. Make sure that you can use them confidently.

Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity
In this activity you’re going to be giving instructions to a family member to recreate a picture using tangram pieces.
- Cut out the tangram pieces and make sure that you know the shapes and colours in Welsh.
- Choose one of the images below to recreate. Give clear instructions in Welsh to your family member on how to move the shapes to recreate the picture that you’ve chosen. Remember not to show them the picture that you’ve chosen.
3.When you feel confident, record a video of yourself and a family member playing the game.
Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 5.
Step 4: Extension and follow on activities/challenges (optional)
