- To research and learn about a capital city.
Step 1: Activity overview for parent, carers and pupils
In this activity there is a video story (approximately three minutes) and research to complete online. There are three activities which can be completed on different days. Once the research is completed the activities can be completed offline.
Step 2: Introduction to the activity and additional information
We live in the county of Pembrokeshire, which is in the country of Wales. Watch the video below to learn a little more about how Wales is made up of twenty two local authorities.
Wales is one of four countries that make up the United Kingdom.
You are going to need to undertake some research and write about what you have found out linked to your home in Pembrokeshire and the United Kingdom.
Step 3: Tasks to carry out for this activity
Activity 1: My home
Write a descriptive piece about your home and where in Pembrokeshire it is. You may like to consider the following:
- Do you live near any interesting places?
- Do you live in a village, on a farm or in/near a town?
- Are you near the sea?
Activity 2: United Kingdom
Can you find out which country is missing from the list below?
- Wales
- England
- Northern Ireland
Draw and describe the flag of the missing country.
Activity 3: Capital cities
Every country in the United Kingdom has a capital city. Can you find out what the names of the four capital cities are?
Choose one of the four capital cities and find out some interesting facts about that capital city.
Create a fact file about that capital city.
Once you have completed the task you can email anything you create (photos, documents, screenshots etc.) directly to your teacher or directly upload it to any of the available places in Step 5.
